GYMNASTICS and TUMBLING

Tot Tumbling - For boys and girls ages 3-5, our Tot Tumbling program is offered as a precursor to Progressive Gymnastics. Parent involvement is welcomed but not required. General motor skills as well as basic tumbling skills and use of equipment are taught to enhance coordination and balance. Offered on a seasonal basis. 

Sessions are Tuesday's or Thursday's from 5pm - 5:45pm. In order to allow more children to participate, each Tot is only allowed to register for either Tuesday or Thursday.

CHILDCARE

If you have a child in the YMCA Childcare program, this class is just for them! The class will be offered for Preschoolers on Tuesday's from 3:15-4pm and for Pre-K kids on Thursday's from 3:15-4pm. Space is limited! Forms MUST be turned into the front desk.

Progressive Gymnastics -For boys and girls ages 6 and up, our Progressive Gymnastics program coaches children through three levels of ability with progressively advanced skills and use of equipment. Our Progressive program is a feeder program for gymnasts that wish to join our competitive gymnastics team.  Offered on a seasonal basis.

Competitive Gymnastics Team - The Lock Haven Area YMCA Gymnastics Team provides a competitive gymnastics experience for boys and girls who have advanced out of our Progressive Gymnastics Program.  The program maintains a balance between developing skills, motivating participants, maintaining an enjoyable environment, and promoting healthy competition.  The team competes in the Allegheny Mountain Gymnastics League, invitationals, and state and national competitions.  Team members must be Y members and are subject to try-outs to qualify for the team and pre-team.  For more information contact Head Coach Becky Conklin, This email address is being protected from spambots. Becky is offering Prosecpt Classes for those who are interested in joining the team. Each individual must reach out to Becky for a time to meet and gain more knowledge on this class. This class will meet twice a week during team time. The registration form can be found here

YOUTH SPORTS

Y youth sports programs promote healthy kids, families, and communities by placing priority on family involvement, healthy competition, the value of participation over winning, and team building.  Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators by contributing their time as volunteer coaches and team parents as well as being their kid's number one fan.  Team youth sports and sports clinics are offered on a seasonal basis. 

 ROCK CLIMBING

Open Climb- The Lock Haven Area YMCA is now offer open climbing every Friday night from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm. Our trained staff are there to assist anyone new to the sport with getting gear on and belaying. Open climbing can be a great way to get the whole family involved in an activity! Cost for members: $5, non-members: $15.

 

Rock Climbing Team - Starting in September, the YMCA will be starting up Climbing Team Registrations! The climbing team is for experienced and novice climbers starting from age 6 and up. Our coaches Broc Phillips and Sara Galbraith, are trained and experienced in the sport and have a passion for sharing their knowledge! Team members will learn various skills from belaying and knot tying to what it means to be on a team and how to work hard while having fun. Pracitces will consists of climbing and body weight exercises specific to rock climbing. The team will meet every Wedensday and Friday from 4:30pm-6:30pm starting September11th. Registration is now open and will be ongoing, so if you have any questions, please contact the Y.
